Seriocomic story based on the memoir by Beverly Donofrio, the movie follows a young woman who finds her life radically altered by an event from her teen years. Born in 1950, Beverly grew up bright and ambitious in a working-class neighborhood in Connecticut; her father was a tough but good-hearted cop who listened to his daughter's problems, and her mother was a nervous woman eager to imagine the worst. From an early age, Beverly displays a keen intelligence and an interest in literature, and dreams of going to college in New York and becoming a writer. However, she also develops an early interest in boys, and at 15 finds herself madly in love with a boy from her high school. However, an attempt to get his attention leads to an embarassing incident at a party, and Ray, a sweet but thick-headed 18-year-old, steps forward to defend her. Beverly and Ray end up making out, and after one thing leads to another, Beverly discovers she's pregnant. Telling Ray is only marginally less difficult than informing her parents, and at 16, Beverly is a wife and mother. Against the odds, Beverly is determined to still finish high school and go on to college, but that goal becomes more difficult with time, especially after Beverly's marriage begins to fall apart. Ray tries to do the right thing but has trouble holding a job, and becomes addicted to heroin.

This is the biggest I've ever seen Suspenso. I survived all the many tear-jerkers that came before this without shedding a tear. But I am one to mourn a little when Steve Zahn was leaving her son. The performance is very, very good. Drew Barrymore was wonderful. And that was Steve Zahn. The rest of the cast includes Brittany Murphy, Adam Garcia, and James Woods, which is probably the best thing to happen to this film. Steve Zahn is the next best thing. While this Riding in Cars with Boys film is sad and moving, it is also very humorous. The scene with astonishment at Zahn Barrymore in the water with a riot was broken. But it is also very irritating. Sometimes, I just wanted to smell the TV, because that little annoying brat child. But that's the way things go. This heart Heartbreaker could touch you and make even sob. RIDING IN CARS WITH BOYS: 5 / 5.

I've seen this Riding in Cars with Boys movie more times than I can count! Wherever cable, I see that I have and buy the CD as well. As an only child of a single mother, I can relate to what Jason felt as a child. As an adult now, I can not relate to the challenges that Beverly should have faced. Drew Barrymore is amazing and credible. The actors who played Jason at various points in his life added to the comedy film. Some of my favorite scenes are with Drew and he portrayed real-life brothers 4 and 7 years old, Jason. Drew much to admire his heart and soul into this DVD movie Riding in Cars with Boys - a real DivX film Riding in Cars with Boys that explores the sometimes complex relationship between children and their mothers.

While not all belaboring this series of reviews, I am glad that a couple of people have already mentioned about the truth of the book, unlike this movie. The DivX film Riding in Cars with Boys itself is excellent and will keep you glued to your seat. Drew Barrymore did a great job in his portrait of Beverly Donofrio, Beverly as represented in the Riding in Cars with Boys Comedy movie a sense of how history was written - and it's definitely a story, but one, however, a pleasant one. I could barely find any similarity between what was however conducted in the Riding in Cars with Boys Comedy movie and what really happened to Beverly in real life. Which had produced the Riding in Cars with Boys film and the book was written, it would have been much more intense drama with tons of sex, drugs and rock and roll, literally. Beverly Donofrio as shown in the DVD film Riding in Cars with Boys is nothing less than a Miss Goody two shoes compared to what was actually Beverly. However, producers have gone through this route, which would have been very depressing to see.

I know how a lot of ordinary Americans feel when they struggle in their lives every day - a sad, lost and almost desperate. This is a country full of opportunity and freedom. But in reality, a bad step in this system usually is enough to ruin a person's life, leaving way for return. Be eliminated in high school dropouts, drugs, alcohol, weapons, bad credit, judgments .... This is the side of the U.S. is not often mentioned on TV or movies, and is real. I loved this DVD film Riding in Cars with Boys and I would see her again when I get a chance. 8 out of 10. We also recommend some other similar French film: Riding in Cars with Boys "Dream Life of Angels", with outstanding performances and a shocking story.

Riding in cars with children is undoubtedly a step toward a new direction for the actress Drew Barrymore. Drew, in his most difficult role to date, and is trying to achieve through most of the film. There are times when it goes a little outside the boundaries, and becomes outrageous - but for the most part, that the nails. The Riding in Cars with Boys film tells his story well and has a strange, and some heartbreaking final. Steve Zahn is easily the high point of this movie. Zahn's character is to think about most when you finish this movie. Riding in cars with children working at levels sufficient to cause worth seeing.
