| Initially I wanted to compare with Traffic, same style and interwoven story lines, but the film: Syriana has stopped me from doing so. Thank you. A comparison of DVD movie Syriana so hard, you know, the old c. apples oranges thing. This DivX Movie Syriana is in its own without comparison or similarities with the traffic. Just before I went to the movies, I saw an interview with director Steve Gaghan on the Charlie Rose Show, and probably it helped me to adapt to most of the parts. The scene where Bob (Clooney) is taken to visit the leaders of Hezbollah, is based on the experience needed when the director was investigating the story. He said that most of the Syriana Drama movie was based on his or Bob experiences. Therefore, what we have .... Oil, big oil, oil executives, analysts, oil, oil of geography, politics of oil, the major power brokers of oil, the CIA, Islamic terrorists, Middle East culture .... It's all there. And Steve Gaghan does a very good job with all together. His debut as director. Very good acting all, perhaps the oldest child and his mother, Amanda Peet noted. I walked out of the theater in a stunning emotional, if this is possible. I am going to see this film: Syriana again. My coda .... What a rotten, ugly barrel of oil. |
| This is a complex film. Its rulings are only the clarity of character motivations. This is not a liberal or conservative film. It is an exploration into the current system that has evolved over many years. At no moment in the Syriana Drama film does not need any pot-shots Bush, Republicans, or Democracts. In fact, these words were not spoken before. This is not a left / right - red / blue debate. At no time ever mention that political parties of those responsible. The fact is that, whether Republican or Democrat, this world depends on oil. Our divided country at the same time on how to get it, do anything to ensure that the flow is not cut. This DivX film Syriana is flawed in the global economy. Faults with the U.S. system has been set by both sides in the span of decades. Failures in the Middle East to squander their earnings. Fallas emerging China and its impact on consumption. Anyone claiming the Syriana Drama film is politically motivated is a troll looking for attention and should be ignored. |
| Yes, this is an excellent and inspiring movie. The script is good, the results are good. The story should be told. However, the extreme complexity - is mentioned in almost all the comments - is really unnecessary. There are five or six threads converging demanded careful attention to detail of the hearing. I dare say these threads to help solidify the book (I have not read). But in the movie, there is too much. At least one, maybe two threads could be cut without losing entirely the point of the film. My vote would be to cut the family of Matt Damon themes of the Syriana Drama film - ditto for the character of Jeffrey Wright. However, if you are prepared to very complex, intellectually stimulating political thriller, this is for you. |
| From the "30,000 feet" of this DVD movie Syriana is a great analysis of corporate greed and why America has gotten into Iraq twice in the last 20 years. There is no oil there, my friend. Our pumping money into a region where we do not understand, acknowledge and appreciate the local culture has never been "bought" We are friends. The oil men in Texas (which is where money comes George) seemed to think: "Hey, if you're running 'here we go there GIT. Arrogance, ignorance and greed. Wise men founded this country (as they were defective). Companies now run. So for this DivX film Syriana (among the American public, at least) will be an education for some, an appreciation for others and a source of heated, hate-filled comments from ignorance / ignorant. |
